The Philosopher's Magazine has put on line my article "Swinging in Class." This was published in their hard copy magazine about two years ago. It is about applying jazz themes to teaching philosophy.

- Nothing on this blog represents the position of Denver Seminary. I am a Christian, philosopher, teacher, writer, and preacher, who is Professor of Philosophy at Denver Seminary. My most recent of my twelve books is Philosophy in Seven Sentences. My magnum opus is Christian Apologetics: A Comprehensive Case for Biblical Faith (InterVarsity Press, 2011). I have published ten others, including Truth Decay and On Jesus. I direct the Christian Apologetics and Ethics MA program at Denver Seminary.

I have very much like the view of teaching like Jazz. As a teacher, I find that student asking questions that are related to the lecture are worthwhile and lead to better more fruitful discussions. As a student when a teacher is using the outline as a guide and not as strictly as an essay, I find it's easier to learn things that I'm interested in. Plus, it give the teacher a chance to passionately explain those areas on the outline that are recent in the teachers mind or expedient for the class.
